Marnie eats, breathes and thinks television and the digital world.
Starting her career in Washington DC, Marnie covered the political scene for various U.S. network news affiliates followed by joining the Washington Bureau of ABC News’ 20/20. She returned to Canada for a job at CTV’s W5.
Over the last 15 years she’s directed and produced numerous heavy hitter formatted series, (Four Weddings Canada, Slice/TLC), syndicated docu-dramas, Masterminds (CourtTV/History), Cold Blood (Global/Channel 5 UK), and monster competition shows, Masterchef (CTV), Cook’d (YTV), Cash Cab (Discovery).
She also runs her own branded content and talent coaching service to help on-screen talent connect with audiences and companies reach their product storytelling potential.
Her wide-ranging experience gives her a powerful toolbox to draw on.
Marnie strives to fully understand every aspect of a show and/or brand vision. She works with the team to create a system for carrying that vision through. When directing on set, she deftly teases the drama and comedy out of the characters so that it can be shaped into the storylines needed in editing.
A born leader, Marnie is known for creating a fun and supportive working environment where cast and crew can fully express their creativity and work together to produce top quality content.
